Shaheen Shah Afridi, the captain of Lahore Qalandars in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) and a prominent member of the Pakistan cricket team, openly discussed his relationship with Babar Azam and his thoughts on other players.
Shaheen Shah Afridi stated that Babar Azam is like a brother to him. He emphasized that discussions within the team should not be leaked as it’s not beneficial for anyone.
During a podcast with Samin Rana of Lahore Qalandars, Shaheen Shah Afridi addressed his relationship with Babar Azam and termed the past social media campaigns against Babar as baseless.

He further mentioned that Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan are like his strength, his brothers. He believed there is no need to respond to those spreading hatred against them.
Shaheen Shah stated that he and Babar Azam are aware of the reality. Whatever is discussed in team meetings is for the team’s betterment. Both understand that their performance will uplift Pakistan, and nobody can stop them from playing for their country.
Shaheen Shah Afridi declared their intention to give their best and not let any third party interfere in their relationship. Their goal is to play for Pakistan, and nothing can divert them from this objective.
Regarding the leak of team meeting discussions, Shaheen Shah Afridi remarked that such leaks are not good and can cause discord among players.

He criticized those who attack players on TV without consideration, advising them to be more thoughtful and not engage in such attacks.
Discussing the past trend #SochnaBhiManaHai, Shaheen Shah acknowledged it was initially related to Lahore Qalandars but also meant for Babar Azam. He praised Babar’s captaincy for Pakistan and his ability to lead the team effectively.
