Shanghai’s LAUNCH and YDC Sign MoU for EV Development in Pakistan
Shanghai Launch Automotive Technology Co., Ltd. (LAUNCH) and Yousuf Dewan Companies (YDC), pioneers in Pakistan’s electric vehicle industry, have officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in Beijing. The agreement aims to introduce advanced electric vehicle (EV) technology to Pakistan, fostering sustainable mobility solutions in the region. The signing ceremony was attended by Khan Muhammad Wazir, Science Councilor, and Idrees Gigi, Director Projects of YDC, along with senior officials from LAUNCH.

Strategic Partnership to Boost EV Assembly and Innovation in Pakistan
This partnership is set to facilitate the local assembly, distribution, and development of EVs in Pakistan, marking a step towards green energy transportation. The MoU includes initiatives such as developing a National Car for Pakistan, establishing local EV assembly operations, and manufacturing both right-hand and left-hand drive battery electric vehicles (BEVs) for domestic and export markets. Additionally, both companies will collaborate on EV innovation, battery recycling solutions, and explore a joint venture for large-scale BEV production in Pakistan.
