All flights to Gilgit, Skardu, and nearby regions were suspended on Wednesday as Pakistan tightened airspace surveillance amid escalating tensions with India. Authorities described the suspension as a temporary measure, with updates contingent on evolving security conditions. Passengers affected by canceled flights were advised to contact airlines for rescheduling.

Pakistan has intensified monitoring of foreign flights, particularly those originating from India, under revised air traffic protocols. Suspicious aircraft now require top-level clearance to proceed, reflecting heightened vigilance in response to the situation. The move follows a late-night alert from Federal Information Minister Attaullah Tarar, who warned of “credible intelligence” suggesting potential Indian military action within 24 to 36 hours. Tarar accused India of leveraging unverified claims about the recent Pahalgam attack as justification.
