In a recent interview with a private news channel, prominent matchmaker Shazia Rahman suggested that the actual number of unmarried individuals in Pakistan could be higher than reported. Rahman highlighted the demanding criteria set by girls, particularly regarding their potential partner’s education and income, as a significant factor contributing to this trend. She emphasized that while these criteria are valid, they can often pose challenges to finding a suitable match.

Rahman also noted that boys have similar expectations, often seeking young, employed partners who can contribute to the household income, especially given the rising inflation in Pakistan.
