Nassif Al-Khattabi Assures Readiness for Ashura Pilgrimage, Anticipates 6 Million Participants in Karbala
Nassif Al-Khattabi, the governor of Holy Karbala, has emphasized that all preparations are complete for the upcoming Ashura pilgrimage in the province. He projected that over 6 million pilgrims will partake in the first ten days of Muharram. A comprehensive security meeting, attended by the interior minister and military commanders, was held to ensure safety during the religious observance.

Governor Al-Khattabi confirmed that all necessary security arrangements and logistical services have been finalized ahead of the Ashura rituals, extending through the tenth night of Muharram. He highlighted the collaborative efforts between local authorities, the Hosseini procession Mawakib, and the community of Karbala to ensure pilgrims receive essential services.

Looking beyond Ashura, preparations are underway for the Arbaeen pilgrimage, expected to draw around 23 million pilgrims. The governorate remains committed to enhancing support mechanisms for the welfare of all participants in these significant religious events.
