Marriyum Aurangzeb Allegedly Directed Rs150 Million Ads to Channel 7 Pvt. Ltd. Without Proper Procedure
Rs150 million worth of advertisements to Channel 7 Pvt. Ltd.
Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader and senior minister Punjab Marriyum Aurangzeb is accused of directing Rs150 million worth of advertisements to Channel 7 Pvt. Ltd. as part of the Ramazan Negahban Package, according to The Scoop. These ads were allegedly processed through digital platforms without the Directorate General of Public Relations (DGPR) being aware of them. The DGPR stated that they became aware of the ads when Channel 7’s Group Chairman Jawad Humayun approached them for payment, but they could not process it as the ads did not go through the proper channels and lacked the necessary documentation.
Multiple sources from DGPR and the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) confirmed that Marriyum Aurangzeb pressured DGPR Rubina Afzal Khan and Secretary Information Syed Daniyal Gillani to expedite the payment to Channel 7. However, Channel 7 reportedly failed to provide evidence of the digital ads, offering only screenshots instead of the required documentation with the requisite SPL number.
