The town has become a vital agricultural hub, with thousands of acres devoted to chili farming. It serves both local markets and exports premium red chilies to countries across Asia and the Arab region, playing a significant role in Pakistan’s agricultural economy.

Although Kunri was once the largest chili market in Asia until 2020, it now ranks as the second-largest after India. Despite this shift, the town continues to thrive as a key player in red chili production and remains essential for both domestic consumption and international trade.
