Punjab’s Digital Payment Solution Boosts Revenue Collection and Expands Online Services Across 18 Departments

The Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB) and Punjab Finance Department’s e-Pay Punjab service has successfully processed over 6.94 million transactions since its October 2019 launch, generating PKR 600 billion in tax revenue. This milestone was shared during a project review meeting chaired by PITB Chairman Faisal Yousaf at Arfa Software Technology Park, emphasizing the platform’s significant contribution to provincial tax collection.

So far, PKR 417 billion has been collected in sales tax, along with 20 billion in token tax, 15 billion from traffic challans, 36 billion in property tax, and a 9 billion increase from online vehicle transfer tax. Faisal Yousaf highlighted that e-Pay Punjab offers online payments for 86 taxes/levies across 18 departments and integrates securely with the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) and other banks via the 1-Link network.

With over 4.77 million app downloads, e-Pay Punjab generates a unique PSID for payments, accessible through all major banks, mobile banking, telecom agents, and branch visits. As a trusted one-stop platform, it allows Punjab residents to conveniently manage tax payments from home, setting a new benchmark for digital governance.

ePay Punjab was launched on October 4th, 2019. It was a joint initiative between the Punjab Information Technology Board and Finance. 

ePay Punjab is a system that allows users to pay taxes and fees online without using cash or paper. Users can generate a unique 17-digit Payment Slip ID (PSID) number for each transaction. This PSID can be used to make payments through multiple banking channels. 

To use ePay Punjab, users can:

  1. Download the ePay Punjab app from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store
  2. Select a service or levy
  3. Generate a PSID for payment
  4. Make the payment
