Driver Wins $50 Million Lawsuit Over Coffee Spill Incident in California
California Court Orders Coffee Company to Pay Huge Damages in Burn Case
In the U.S. state of California, a driver won a high-profile lawsuit against a coffee-selling company, securing damages worth 50 million dollars (approximately 14 billion Pakistani rupees). Reports reveal that the court instructed the coffee company to compensate the affected individual following a coffee spill incident.
The accident occurred when the driver collected a tray of coffee from a takeaway store, only for the hot coffee to spill onto his lap moments later. As a result, the individual suffered third-degree burns. CCTV footage confirmed the sequence of events leading to the unfortunate mishap.
However, the coffee company has challenged the court’s verdict, arguing that the compensation amount is excessive and unwarranted.
