Bread Prices Drop After Flour Reduction: Monitoring System in Place

Following a reduction in wheat flour prices, the rates of naan and chapati have also been lowered in Karachi. Commissioner Karachi, Syed Hasan Naqvi, has issued an official price list, setting the cost of 100-gram chapati at Rs. 10, 120-gram naan at Rs. 15, 150-gram naan at Rs. 17, and 180-gram naan at Rs. 22.
All tandoor owners have been instructed to display the price list prominently. The commissioner emphasized that exceeding the official rates will not be tolerated, and strict action will be taken against violators.
A control room has been established to monitor prices, and citizens have been urged to report any complaints immediately.
