The bus, carrying 53 passengers, overturned and caught fire near the Taftan-Dehshir checkpoint. Iranian media initially reported 28 fatalities, with emergency measures imposed in hospitals across the city. Most of the passengers hailed from Larkana, Khairpur, and Kashmore. The convoy was on its way to participate in the Arbaeen pilgrimage.

The accident, which occurred due to a suspected brake failure, has left many in critical condition, with seven people still fighting for their lives in the hospital. Authorities in Iran have invited Pakistan’s consular services to assist with the situation. The bus involved in the accident was part of a two-bus convoy, with the second bus delayed due to documentation issues. The injured are being treated in a local government hospital, while the rescue and recovery efforts continue.
