Direct Air Service Between Pakistan and Bangladesh on the Horizon
Air Asia X, a Malaysian low-cost airline, has announced the launch of four weekly flights from Karachi to Kuala Lumpur. Bookings for the service, set to begin on May 30, have already started, with tickets priced at Rs 55,800. The airline aims to provide travel facilities to over 100,000 passengers annually. Flights will operate on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays, offering convenient options for travelers.

In addition, preparations are in progress to establish a direct air service between Pakistan and Bangladesh as bilateral relations improve. Reports indicate that private airlines from both countries plan to commence direct flights between Karachi and Dhaka, a proposal that has received approval from the Bangladesh Civil Aviation Authority.
Air India Expands Codeshare Partnership with Lufthansa Group
Abdul Naser Khan, Additional Secretary of Bangladesh’s Ministry of Civil Aviation and Tourism, confirmed that the Pakistani private airline’s proposal for Dhaka-Karachi flights has been approved, with a formal agreement expected soon. He noted that Bangladeshi patients traveling to Pakistan for medical treatment have strengthened people-to-people ties, with both sides working to facilitate operations as quickly as possible.
