Strong Tremors Shake Islamabad and Beyond, No Casualties Reported

A severe earthquake measuring 5.9 on the Richter scale jolted Islamabad and several other cities across Pakistan, causing widespread panic. Tremors were felt strongly in Islamabad, Peshawar, Malakand, and Abbottabad, prompting residents to evacuate their homes and offices while reciting prayers. The quake created a moment of chaos as people poured into the streets seeking safety.

According to the Seismological Center, the earthquake originated at a depth of 94 kilometers, with its epicenter located along the Afghanistan-Pakistan border. The impact was felt across northern and central regions of Pakistan, affecting cities like Rawalpindi, Mardan, Upper Dir, Haripur, Khanpur, Taxila, Chiniot, Faisalabad, Gilgit-Baltistan, Nowshera, Charsadda, and Khushab. Despite the intensity of the tremors, no casualties or property damage have been reported so far.

This incident highlights the vulnerability of the region to seismic activity due to its proximity to fault lines. While immediate damages were avoided, the event serves as a reminder of the need for earthquake preparedness and disaster response measures to safeguard lives and infrastructure in future occurrences.
