Fancy Number Plates Featuring Zardari, Nawaz, PTI Founder Up for Auction in Peshawar
The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has announced plans to auction vehicle number plates featuring the names of prominent political figures, including President Asif Zardari, former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, and the founder of PTI, among others.
Provincial Minister for Excise and Taxation Fakhar Jahan told Geo News that the auction of these fancy and unique choice plates will take place on January 27 at Nishtar Hall in Peshawar.
According to the minister, bidding will start at Rs. 1 million, and the highest bidder will secure a plate bearing the name of their chosen political or national personality.
He added that in later phases, plates named after other national leaders, renowned personalities, regions, and communities will also be included in the auction. Vehicle owners have already shown strong interest in the initiative, which is expected to generate significant revenue for the national exchequer.
Applications for participation are being submitted through the Dastak app, with the deadline set for January 26, 2026. The Excise and Taxation Department has also issued an official advertisement to publicize the auction.
