Samsung Rolls Out First 2026 Update: High-Risk Fixes for Galaxy A55 and A34
Samsung has rolled out the January 2026 security update for the Galaxy A55 and Galaxy A34, marking the first patch of the new year. While this isn’t a major UI upgrade or feature release, the update is crucial—it addresses up to 55 security vulnerabilities in the current firmware.
For the Galaxy A55, the patch upgrades One UI 8 to firmware version A556SKSS6CYL2, while the Galaxy A34 receives version A346NKSSCEYL2, as confirmed through Samsung’s community posts.
At present, the rollout is limited to South Korea, with wider availability expected in the coming days. Users in other regions, including Pakistan, should see the update soon as Samsung expands the OTA deployment.
Of the 55 fixes included:
- 23 vulnerabilities come from Google’s Android 16 OS.
- 4 fixes were contributed by Samsung Semiconductor.
- The remainder were patched directly by Samsung, with 28 classified as high-risk issues.
Galaxy A55 and A34 owners are strongly advised to install the update as soon as it appears in the Software Update menu. The process remains straightforward: open Settings → Software Update → Check for Update, then tap Download & Install once the patch is available.
Looking ahead, both devices are eligible for the upcoming One UI 8.5 release, which will deliver a more significant feature overhaul later this year.
