Lawlessness Sparks Protest After Armed Assault on Shopkeeper in Lahore
LAHORE – A young businessman from Gilgit-Baltistan faced brutal violence in Lahore’s Mustafa Town Market after being attacked by a group of armed men.
According to reports, the incident occurred when the shopkeeper asked a group of customers to pay their food bill. In response, nearly 19 individuals—allegedly intoxicated and armed—assaulted him with weapons, leaving him unconscious. Witnesses said the attackers fled in four vehicles while brandishing firearms.
The Mustafa Town Market administration has condemned the attack and announced a protest outside the Mustafa Town Police Station at 4 p.m. today, demanding justice and accountability.
Local traders and residents have raised concerns over rising lawlessness, urging Punjab Police, Lahore Police, and Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif to take immediate action against the perpetrators.
