Teenager Anamta Imran Disappears After College; Investigation Yields No Breakthrough
A 17-year-old college student, Anamta Imran, has been missing since December 12, after she left her college and failed to return home, raising serious concerns over investigative delays and alleged police negligence.
According to the family, Anamta left for college as usual on December 12. CCTV footage reviewed by her parents later confirmed that she entered the college on time and exited the premises at 12:00 pm, the official closing time. After leaving the college, there has been no trace of her whereabouts.

Missing Student Case Raises Alarms as Family Seeks High-Level Intervention
When Anamta did not return home, her parents immediately rushed to the college but were unable to find any information. An FIR was registered the same day. However, even after 26 days, police have failed to make any progress in the case.
The family stated that all of Anamta’s belongings, including her mobile phone, were left at home. Police took the phone into custody on December 12 and returned it after 14 days, claiming it could not be unlocked. Mobile phone experts later informed the family that repeated incorrect password attempts had permanently locked the device’s security system, leaving a factory reset as the only remaining option. The parents say this resulted in the loss of potentially crucial digital evidence.
Despite the FIR, the family alleges that police response was slow. Officers arrived late at night to record statements, while the following day Anamta’s mother herself visited the college and spoke to her classmates. The parents later met the college principal and Anamta’s friends without police assistance. It was only after informing the Investigation Officer of these visits that police accompanied the father to the college.
The parents say they have provided all available evidence, including CCTV footage and statements from Anamta’s friends, yet no leads have emerged. They allege that instead of advancing the investigation, police now contact them daily seeking updates.
The family has appealed to the Governor of Sindh, the Chief Minister of Sindh, the Prime Minister of Pakistan, and other relevant authorities to take notice of the case. They say their only demand is the safe recovery of their daughter.
