Ghana Breaks Ground on Ultramodern Amusement Park, Boosting Tourism and Economy
A groundbreaking ceremony was held Saturday in Afienya, near Ghana’s port city of Tema, for the construction of an ultramodern amusement park by China’s Greenhouse International Development Group. The ambitious project, named Bright International Amusement Park, is set to become a major leisure destination upon its completion.
The expansive park is expected to feature a luxurious five-star leisure resort hotel with 160 rooms and 20 independent presidential villas, a 5,000-capacity international conference and exhibition center, and a sprawling 160,000-square-meter water park. Additionally, it will include 500 high-end golf villas, an artificial beach, waterfront restaurants, and sightseeing yachts.

President Mahama Hails New Amusement Park as Catalyst for Ghana’s 24-Hour Economy
Ghanaian President John Dramani Mahama, who officiated the groundbreaking, lauded Chinese investors for their continued confidence in Ghana as an attractive investment destination. He emphasized that the park would serve as a vibrant leisure hub for Ghanaians and visitors from neighboring West African countries during weekends and holidays.

President Mahama also commended Greenhouse International Development Group for its consistent contributions since establishing its presence in Ghana in 2011. Previous projects include the Bright International Industrial Park, which houses multiple factories producing affordable goods and has created approximately 10,000 local jobs, alongside significant investments in the agriculture and construction sectors.
Mahama stated that both the Industrial Park and the new Amusement Park would become central to the government’s “24-Hour Economy” program. Zheng Xiangming, Chairman of Greenhouse International Development Group, echoed these sentiments, highlighting the amusement park as a testament to the strong friendship between Ghana and China and pledging deep integration into Ghana’s 24-Hour Economy to ensure the area remains vibrant day and night.
