Quetta Attack Foiled: Security Forces Kill Six Militants After Deadly Blast

A militant attack on the Frontier Corps (FC) Headquarters in Quetta, the capital of Balochistan province, resulted in the deaths of 10 individuals, including two security personnel, according to Provincial Health Minister Bakht Muhammad Kakar. The incident, which occurred near noon, involved a suicide bombing followed by an attempted infiltration.

The Bomb Disposal Squad reported that 25 to 30 kilograms of explosive material were used in the suicide blast. Security forces successfully neutralized all six militants involved, including the suicide bomber, and recovered 13 hand grenades, three grenade launchers, and four Kalashnikovs from the attackers. Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi lauded the security forces for their swift and effective response, stating they “thwarted nefarious designs.” Balochistan Chief Minister Sarfaraz Bugti confirmed that other militants attempted to enter the building after the suicide attack but were repelled by the security forces.

Emergency Declared in Quetta Hospitals as Provincial Minister Confirms 10 Fatalities

Eyewitnesses reported hearing heavy firing in the area after the powerful explosion, with police and FC personnel quickly cordoning off the site. According to Wasim Baig, spokesperson for Civil Hospital Quetta, 30 injured individuals were brought to the emergency department, where they received initial medical aid before being transferred to the trauma center for further treatment. In response to the attack, Health Minister Bakht Muhammad Kakar and Health Secretary Mujeeb-ur-Rehman declared an emergency in all Quetta hospitals. Balochistan Interior Minister Sarfaraz Bugti affirmed the government’s commitment, stating, “The sacrifices of the people and security agencies will not go in vain. We are committed to making Balochistan peaceful and secure.” The attack took place on September 30, 2025.
