Bannu Terror Attack Foiled: Pakistani Security Forces Neutralize 5 Terrorists, 6 Soldiers Martyred
In a tragic incident, six soldiers of the Pakistan Army were martyred after terrorists belonging to the “Fitna Al-Khawarij” group launched an attack on the Federal Constabulary (FC) Headquarters in the Bannu district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. In a swift and effective response, security forces neutralized five terrorists.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the terrorists attempted to breach the headquarters’ security perimeter in the early morning. However, Pakistani Army and FC personnel responded with bravery and precision, foiling their initial attempt to enter the facility.
After failing to breach the perimeter, the terrorists detonated a vehicle packed with explosives against a security wall, causing a powerful blast that demolished a section of the wall. The explosion also affected a nearby civilian area, injuring three innocent citizens.
During the intense gun battle that followed, security forces displayed exceptional courage and professionalism, killing all five attackers linked to the “Fitna Al-Khawarij” group. Tragically, six security personnel lost their lives in the line of duty, making the ultimate sacrifice for the nation.
ISPR stated that security forces have cordoned off the area and a clearance operation is underway to track down and arrest any remaining facilitators. The military spokesperson added that those responsible for this attack will be brought to justice and will not be forgiven.
The statement concluded with a resolve that Pakistan’s security forces and its people are determined to eradicate terrorism, which is supported by India. The sacrifices of the martyrs and the innocent civilians strengthen the nation’s resolve against terrorism.
