Master Changan Motors Launches Upgraded Karvaan and Sherpa in Pakistan
In a significant move for Pakistan’s automotive market, Master Changan Motors Limited (MCML) has unveiled upgraded variants of its popular Karvaan and Sherpa vehicles. This launch highlights the company’s commitment to improving safety, performance, and practicality for both commercial and family consumers.
Pakistan’s 7-Seater MPV Market Leader Gets a Significant Upgrade
The Karvaan, a leading 7-seater MPV with over 52% market share, has sold more than 25,000 units in Pakistan since its launch five years ago. The new model, named the Karvaan Power Plus UG, features a more powerful 1.2L engine, which replaces the previous 1.0L unit. This engine offers a 44% increase in horsepower and improved fuel efficiency. The new variant also introduces key safety features for its category, including dual airbags, ABS with EBD, and rear parking sensors. Additionally, the vehicle now comes with dual-zone air conditioning, a modern infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a reverse camera, and cosmetic upgrades like alloy wheels and dual-tone interiors. The introductory price for the Karvaan Power Plus UG is set at PKR 3,299,000.

Alongside the Karvaan, MCML also launched the Sherpa Power 1.2, an upgraded version of its mini-truck. It is equipped with the same new 1.2L engine as the Karvaan, providing more torque and improved performance for heavy-duty work and long-haul trips. The upgraded Sherpa is aimed at small business owners and logistics operators who require a durable and low-maintenance transport solution for both urban and rural terrains.
Speaking at the launch, Danial Malik, CEO of Master Changan Motors, emphasized the impact of the Karvaan, calling it “not just a vehicle, it’s a movement.” He stated that the upgrades to both the Karvaan and the Sherpa Power 1.2 will continue to elevate the standards of everyday mobility and utility in Pakistan. Both new models are now available at dealerships nationwide.
