Tragedy in Ahmedpur Sharqia: School Van Catches Fire Due to LPG Leak, One Student Loses Life
A heartbreaking incident took place in Ahmedpur Sharqia, where a school van carrying female students caught fire due to an LPG cylinder gas leak. As a result, 11 students sustained burn injuries, and tragically, one student, Tayyaba Abbas, lost her life.

Rescue 1122 released the details of the injured students and shifted them to nearby hospitals for treatment. The horrifying event has once again raised serious concerns about the lack of safety checks in school transport vehicles.
This is not the first incident of its kind in the country. Numerous such accidents have occurred in the past due to unsafe LPG cylinders in school vans. There’s a growing demand for the government to impose strict regulations, ensuring all school transport vehicles are converted to safer fuel options like petrol or diesel, and that regular inspections are made mandatory to prevent further tragedies.
