At least 16 tourists from a family hailing from Sialkot were swept away by sudden flash floods
In a heartbreaking incident in Swat, at least 16 tourists from a family hailing from Sialkot were swept away by sudden flash floods while having breakfast at a riverside hotel. The group was enjoying their morning meal by the water’s edge when a powerful surge of floodwater hit the area without warning, carrying away everyone in its path.
Rescue operations were immediately launched by local authorities and emergency teams, but the strong current posed significant challenges. Efforts to locate the missing individuals are still underway.
This tragic event has once again raised concerns over the lack of safety protocols and early warning systems for riverside hotels and tourist spots in flood-prone areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
