A vehicle skidded off the road and plunged into the Chitral River near Shughor on the Gram Chashma Road in Lower Chitral. While the driver survived the accident, another passenger fell into the river and remains missing.
Upon receiving the alert, Rescue 1122 teams immediately launched a search operation at multiple points along the river but have yet to recover the missing person’s body. The rescue team managed to retrieve the vehicle and handed it over to its owner.

This incident marks the third tragedy in Lower Chitral in just three days, with three people, including a child, having gone missing after falling into the Chitral River. Rescue 1122’s diving teams are conducting extensive search operations, but no bodies have been recovered so far.
Local residents living near the Chitral River are urged to immediately inform Rescue 1122 if they spot any bodies along the riverbanks or in the water. Authorities appreciate public cooperation in these critical efforts.
