Jealousy Turns Deadly: Islamabad TikTok Star Sana Yousuf Shot Dead by Online Acquaintance
Images of the suspect involved in the murder of 17-year-old TikTok star Sana Yousuf have circulated on social media. The accused, identified as Omar Hayat — popularly known as “Kaka” on TikTok — presented himself as a so-called gangster and tough guy on the platform.
Islamabad police swiftly tracked and arrested Omar Hayat just 20 hours after the murder. He was apprehended in Faisalabad after fleeing Islamabad, with the help of CCTV footage and advanced technology. During interrogation, Omar confessed to the crime and claimed to have been a friend of the victim.

Islamabad Police Chief Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi confirmed that Sana Yousuf was shot twice and killed after repeatedly rejecting the accused’s advances. The police revealed that Omar had persistently tried to contact Sana, including several attempts on May 29 — her birthday — and even at her residence. Frustrated by being ignored, the suspect committed the murder around 5:00 PM on June 2. The murder weapon and Sana’s iPhone were later recovered from her uncle’s possession.
Sana Yousuf was a rising social media personality with over 800,000 followers on TikTok and nearly 500,000 on Instagram. She was known for her lip-sync videos in Urdu, Hindi, and Pashto. Her final posts, uploaded just hours before her death, showed her celebrating her birthday with friends at a restaurant in Islamabad. Additionally, a fake photo was widely circulated online wrongly identifying another person as the suspect, which police later debunked.
