Pakistan’s Junior Squash Players Advance to Finals in Melbourne
Pakistani squash players are showcasing remarkable talent at the Australian Junior Open Squash Championship in Melbourne, with five players advancing to event finals. Among them, the legendary Ali Sisters from Peshawar have set a historic milestone by reaching their respective finals without dropping a single game.
Mah Noor Ali (Girls U19) defeated Australia’s Elizabeth Wang 3-0, while her sisters Mahwish Ali (Girls U17) and Saharish Ali (Girls U15) dominated their opponents Tina Ma (Australia) and Olivia Van Zon (New Zealand), winning their matches 3-0. This marks only the third instance in squash history where three sisters have reached finals in a Platinum-category international championship together.
Further triumphs include Ahmed Ali Naz (Boys U11) securing a spot in the finals after a strong performance and Azaan Ali Khan (Boys U17) defeating Ireland’s Adam Finlay Mulligan with a 3-0 victory. However, Faizan Khan (Boys U13) faced heartbreak as he missed his semifinal due to a train delay.
These achievements emphasize Pakistan’s rising dominance in junior squash, with young stars continuing to excel on the global stage. The finals now await, promising further glory for Pakistan and its talented athletes.
