In a tragic incident in a village near Gujrat, Punjab, a son killed his fasting mother over a delay in preparing breakfast. According to a report published in Dawn, the incident occurred in the jurisdiction of Industrial Estate 2 Police Station in Mararian village.

Police sources revealed that Usman Nawaz asked his mother, Razia Bibi, to prepare breakfast. However, she explained that she was fasting and needed some rest, requesting him to wait. Enraged by the delay, the son struck his mother on the head with an iron rod, resulting in her death on the spot.

Upon receiving the report, police arrived at the scene, arrested the suspect, and transferred the woman’s body to Aziz Bhatti Shaheed Teaching Hospital for a post-mortem examination. A case has been registered against the accused under Section 302 of the Pakistan Penal Code, based on a complaint filed by his brother, Farman Ali.
