Missing Tire Mystery: PIA and CAA Launch Probe After Karachi-Lahore Flight Incident
Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has launched an investigation after flight PK 306 from Karachi to Lahore landed at Allama Iqbal International Airport without one of its wheels. The missing wheel was discovered during a post-landing inspection. Despite more than 14 hours passing, the missing tire has not been found at either Karachi or Lahore airports. Reports confirm that the wheel was present when the plane took off from Karachi, and the aircraft landed normally in Lahore.

PIA Aircraft Makes Safe Landing Despite Missing Wheel, Authorities Investigate
Authorities, including the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) and PIA’s Flight Safety Department, have initiated a probe to determine the cause of the incident. Preliminary findings suggest that the wheel may have been damaged due to an external object on the Karachi runway. A part of the tire shaft was later found at Karachi airport, indicating possible damage during takeoff. PIA assured that the plane’s design ensures safety, and the incident did not compromise flight operations.
A PIA safety team has been sent to Lahore to investigate further. Aviation experts are analyzing the runway conditions and maintenance records to identify any faults. The final report will determine the exact cause, but officials have reassured passengers that safety protocols were followed and no passengers were harmed.
