TCS Manager Manav Sharma’s Tragic Suicide Amid Alleged Marital Harassment
In a case reminiscent of Bengaluru techie Atul Subhash’s suicide, 25-year-old Manav Sharma, a manager with TCS in Mumbai, ended his life in Agra on February 24 after alleged harassment by his wife. Before hanging himself, he recorded a 6-minute and 57-second video expressing his distress over his marriage, apologizing to his parents, and pleading for awareness of men’s struggles, stating,
“Please, someone should talk about men. They become very lonely.”
Conflicts and Threats Before the Tragic End

Manav, a resident of Defense Colony, worked in Mumbai. According to his father, retired Air Force officer Narendra Sharma, Manav married on January 30, 2024. Initially, the marriage was peaceful, but conflicts arose when his wife allegedly threatened false accusations and expressed interest in living with her boyfriend. On February 23, Manav and his wife returned from Mumbai. Later, when he dropped her at her maternal home, he was reportedly threatened by her family. The next morning, he took his own life.

Police Investigation and Wife’s Rejection of Accusations
Despite the emotional video, police initially received no complaint. However, after a WhatsApp complaint from the family on Thursday night, police officials confirmed that a case is being registered and an investigation is ongoing. Manav’s wife, Nikita Sharma, rejected all the accusations, alleging that her husband had been struggling with alcohol addiction and had self-harmed several times before. She claimed that he used to drink excessively, had attempted suicide multiple times, and assaulted her after drinking.
