BLA Claims Responsibility for Coordinated Assault in Khuzdar District
Khuzdar – Armed militants launched a coordinated attack on the main market in Zehri tehsil of Khuzdar district, Balochistan, targeting government buildings and a bank. The assault, which began around 11 pm, saw approximately 80 militants descending from nearby mountains and establishing control over the tehsil headquarters.

The militants first stormed the Levies Force station, taking officials hostage, vandalizing records, and setting the building ablaze. They then targeted a branch of a private bank, holding staff hostage and looting over Rs90 million from the strong room, according to bank officials in Quetta. The Zehri Municipal Committee and the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) offices were also attacked, with records, computers, and other equipment destroyed by fire.
The outlawed Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) has claimed responsibility for the attack. Kalat Commissioner Naeem Khan Bazai reported that the militants arrived in five vehicles and over 20 motorcycles, equipped with advanced weaponry, and remained in the area for approximately eight hours. Upon the arrival of security forces, the militants fled, taking two Levies vehicles with them. However, security forces recovered 20 AK-47 rifles, 4,000 rounds of ammunition, and 10 motorcycles.

During their occupation of the market, the militants used the central mosque’s loudspeakers to announce their control and deliver speeches to gathered residents. Security forces subsequently launched an operation to counter the attack, with military helicopters providing aerial support.
