Chicken Prices Surge Across Pakistan, Reaching Record Highs

The price of chicken meat has surged dramatically across Pakistan, with major cities like Karachi, Peshawar, and Rawalpindi witnessing steep increases of up to Rs 300 per kilogram. In Karachi, chicken meat is now selling for Rs 740 to Rs 800 per kilogram, marking a Rs 300 rise within just a week, according to Dawn News.

Despite the official price of live chicken being set at Rs 410 per kilogram, wholesale rates have climbed to Rs 480 per kilogram, while eggs, officially priced at Rs 300 per dozen, are being sold at Rs 380.

In Peshawar, the price of live chicken has risen by Rs 150 per kilogram in the past 10 days, now reaching Rs 510 per kilogram. Similarly, Rawalpindi has seen live broiler chicken prices jump from Rs 200 to Rs 480, with chicken meat now being sold for Rs 750 per kilogram, up from Rs 500.
