Saudi Arabia Unveils New Date-Based Beverage
Riyadh, Saudi Arabia – A Saudi Arabian company, owned by the Public Investment Fund, has successfully developed and is preparing to launch a new beverage made from dates. The drink, named “Mela Kola,” was introduced at the ongoing date festival in the Saudi capital, in the presence of Minister of Commerce Abdulrahman Al-Fadli and the company’s CEO, Bandar Al-Qahtani.

According to company officials, the production of Mela Kola adheres to international food standards. Furthermore, they hinted at the imminent launch of other date-based products in the market.
This latest venture follows the establishment of “Sawani” in July 2023, another company backed by the Public Investment Fund. Sawani is focused on producing and marketing products derived from camel milk.
These initiatives demonstrate Saudi Arabia’s commitment to diversifying its economy and promoting local industries. By leveraging its natural resources, such as dates and camel milk, the country aims to create new markets and job opportunities.
