Pakistani drivers now have the opportunity to drive legally in 132 countries with the new Pakistan International Driving License, significantly expanding travel and exploration options for residents. This permit is set to ease global travel for Pakistani citizens by simplifying the process of obtaining a recognized driving license abroad, a requirement due to Pakistan’s stringent regulations. The process for acquiring the International Driving License, while once complex and time-consuming, has been streamlined to offer quicker processing times and more accessible guidelines.
To apply, Pakistani drivers need to submit several documents, including an attested passport copy, CNIC photocopies, and a medical certificate for applicants aged 50 and above. Applications are processed at Driving License Authority offices, where applicants undergo data entry, an eyesight test, biometric verification, and a driving skills assessment.
After completing these steps, drivers receive their International Driving License within a week. With this permit, Pakistani drivers can experience the convenience of driving in foreign countries, making international travel for work, exploration, and cultural exchange more accessible than ever.
