Polish Expat in Dubai Amazed by Delivery Rider’s Honesty after Dh17,000 Overpayment
Kajetan Hubner, a Polish expat who recently moved to Dubai, experienced the integrity of UAE residents firsthand after accidentally overpaying Dh17,000 on a delivery worth Dh1,700. Surprised to find he had overpaid, Kajetan later received a message from Noon delivery rider Muhammad Mohsin Nazir, who returned the excess amount. “I didn’t realize I’d overpaid and assumed I lost the cash,” Kajetan shared with Khaleej Times. “The next day, Muhammad messaged me, saying I made a mistake and he would return it. Since then, we’ve become like brothers.”

For Muhammad, noticing the unexpected sum came as a shock. “I kept checking the order and recounting the money,” he said. Unsure if the amount was correct, he consulted with his mother in Pakistan, who advised him to confirm the overpayment. That night, Muhammad deposited Dh1,750 with Noon, double-checking no cash was missing, and reached out to Kajetan to clarify and return the excess.
Kajetan, staying in a hotel while house hunting in Dubai, had purchased an e-scooter on Noon and paid cash on delivery. Unfamiliar with the local currency, he mistook Dh1,000 notes for Dh500 notes, leading to the overpayment. After hours of searching for the missing money, Kajetan was relieved when Muhammad messaged him about the extra cash. Overwhelmed with gratitude, Kajetan attempted to reward Muhammad, who humbly declined, saying his true reward lies with Allah.

The heartwarming story, captured by Kajetan’s girlfriend and shared on social media, has since gone viral. Recognizing Muhammad’s integrity, Noon rewarded him for his honesty, and Kajetan expressed deep appreciation for the rider’s exemplary character in what could have been a costly error.
