SBP to Recognize Top Banks and Women Entrepreneurs, Launch New Financial Products for Women-led Businesses
The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) will celebrate Women Entrepreneurship Day (WED) on November 19, 2024, with a grand event inaugurated by SBP Governor Mr. Jameel Ahmad. The event will bring together top officials from banks, non-banking institutions, and women’s associations to highlight the vital contributions of women entrepreneurs to the national economy. Special recognition awards will be given to high-performing banks that have provided loans to female borrowers, as well as to outstanding women-led businesses across multiple categories.

As part of the celebration, the SBP will introduce new initiatives to support women-led businesses. Commercial banks will collaborate to create financial products tailored to female entrepreneurs, while workshops and awareness campaigns will raise knowledge about the SBP’s SME financing options. Mentorship programs will also be launched to help aspiring women entrepreneurs enhance their loan eligibility and business potential.
Women Entrepreneurship Day is a global initiative aimed at recognizing the impact of women entrepreneurs in driving innovation and economic growth. Despite facing challenges in accessing finance and business opportunities, women entrepreneurs continue to play a crucial role. SBP’s efforts aim to empower more women to enter and thrive in the business landscape.
