Portugal Beats Croatia 2-1
Cristiano Ronaldo made history by becoming the first footballer to score 900 career goals during Portugal’s 2-1 win over Croatia in the UEFA Nations League opener. Portugal’s Diogo Dalot scored the opening goal before Ronaldo netted his 900th with a close-range volley in the 34th minute. Despite a late own goal by Dalot, Portugal held on to secure the victory.
Ronaldo’s career goals span multiple clubs and countries, with 131 goals for Portugal and a notable 450 for Real Madrid. His illustrious career includes playing for Sporting Lisbon, Manchester United, Juventus, and currently Al-Nassr in Saudi Arabia, where he has scored 68 goals.
With this win, Portugal leveled with Group A1 leaders Poland, who defeated Scotland 3-2. In other Nations League matches, reigning champions Spain drew 0-0 with Serbia, while Denmark defeated a nine-man Switzerland 2-0 in Copenhagen.
