Pakistani Sisters Make History with Gold Medals at Asia Pacific Africa Combined Powerlifting Championship 2024
Two Pakistani sisters, Sybil and Veronika Sohail, made history by winning gold medals at the Asia Pacific Africa Combined Powerlifting Championship 2024.
Sybil Sohail clinched the gold medal in the 52kg Open category of Deadlift in South Africa and also won gold in the overall category. This victory adds to her impressive tally, making it a total of four gold medals for Pakistan, including in Squat, Bench Press, Deadlift, and Overall.

Veronika Sohail also excelled by winning the gold medal in the 57kg category of Deadlift. In addition to this, she secured gold medals in the Squat, Bench Press, and Deadlift categories.
Their third sister, Twinkle Sohail, is set to compete on Thursday. The Lahore-based sisters’ daily training sessions and dedication have clearly paid off, as evidenced by their outstanding achievements on the international stage.
