Amid soaring temperatures, Pakistan is grappling with a significant electricity shortfall of 5,319 MW, causing widespread load shedding across the country. The nation’s electricity demand stands at 25,000 MW, but current production is only 19,681 MW. Hydropower contributes 5,600 MW, government thermal plants 890 MW, private sector 8,980 MW, wind power 780 MW, solar power 198 MW, bagasse 133 MW, and nuclear plants 3,100 MW.
