Pakistani mountaineer Sirbaz Khan successfully scaled Mount Everest without using supplementary oxygen on Tuesday, becoming the second Pakistani to achieve this feat. Sirbaz reached the summit at 12:30 PM PST, having previously used bottled oxygen for the climb. This achievement adds to his record of climbing 11 of the world’s 8,000-meter peaks without oxygen support, out of a total of 13 eight-thousanders he has conquered. Earlier this year, Sirbaz had to postpone his attempt to summit Shishapangma due to Chinese restrictions.
